A bit about where I’m at now…
I recently moved from Seattle, WA to Bend, OR. And what I thought was going to be a piece of cake has turned out to be a work in progress. I guess, that’s life ‘eh. Currently reminding myself ‘the obstacles are what make us grow.’
A friend once told me, “only move or leave home to travel when everything is going well.”
I think what she said (years ago) has finally landed. I was ready to move on to my next adventure! Seattle was amazing, I started my yoga business, this little blog, was teaching 4 classes a week at 2 awesome studios, and had a great group of friends. I just felt inspired to try a new place, if at least for a year. I’m guessing turning 30 was part of this sudden aspiration.
Any ways, Bend worked out and here I am in the middle of March writing this journal entry on my light blue duvet whilst snow sprinkling outside. Moving to a new place has had it’s ups and downs: feeling lonely at times eager to make friends, figuring out which grocery store to go to, getting my city map bearings, and missing my favorite quick lunch spot. Teeny things really.
My friends attuned advice, I believe, is to live in a way that each place we go to, each place we live concludes with positive memories. This is so we can close that chapter and move on to the next one. I realize now that the teeny things such as ‘feeling at home or in the groove’ are pillars in one’s life, these foundational aspects are what make a happy life.
AND we can find this wherever we roam.
Bend is truly beautiful, with snow-capped mountains in site, a unique arts scene, food trucks galore, outdoorsy folks, adventures just a quick drive away, very cute mountain men and friendly people.
I’m excited to discover the places and faces here that will bring that same amount of comfort as the places before.
In due time :) discovery brings abundance.
